They are specially designed to detect methane gas with an alarm threshold set to 5% L.I.E. (Lower Explosive Limit), which corresponds to 0.25% by volume. In alarm and fault conditions these detectors generated visible warning in which a red or yellow LED is lights up. They also generates acoustic warning in which internal buzzer is activated continuously.
