Heavy Duty Repair Mortar R4 WRM 525 5kg Gray 2111705250

WRM 525 is a one-component concrete repair material. It consists of cement, quartz sand, resins and special and improving admixtures. It is a non-shrinking material with excellent adhesion to concrete and resistance to frost and moisture. After mixing with water, a paste is obtained that can be applied with a trowel or metal spatula to the surface to be repaired. It is suitable for interior and exterior surfaces. It is classified as PCC R4 type repair concrete mortar, according to EN 1504-3 standard.

Application Steps

Step 1

First ensure a clean surface of loose materials and corroded or carbonized concrete sections with the help of a hammer or chisel or sandblasting. Make sure that there is reinforcement to be uncovered peripherally so that the material can penetrate and roughen the concrete surfaces that will come in contact with it.

Step 2

Remove all residues with water under pressure and remove any excess water. It is recommended to pre-coat the substrate and the metal reinforcement with WRM 510 primer before applying the material, in order to ensure excellent adhesion of the material to the substrate. The substrate should be slightly moist

Step 3

In a clean container add 4.6 - 4.75 liters of clean water and gradually empty the contents of the bag (25Kg) stirring constantly, so that a homogeneous mass of mortar is obtained

Step 4

Allow the mixture to mature for 5 minutes and stir again for a while. It is also recommended to stir the mixture periodically for the duration of the work. After the preparation of the mixture, the additional addition of water is prohibited to correct the workability of the mortar. This will reduce its strength and increase its shrinkage

Step 5

Where necessary, mold the part of the concrete to be restored and then pour the repair mortar WRM 525, taking care to thoroughly lay and cover all the gaps. Make sure that all the produced air comes out and there are no gaps. The thickness of the mortar can reach up to 4 cm

Step 6

For uniform strength and to avoid cracks, the final surface must be kept moist for the first few days after application and quick drying must be prevented with a suitable wet cover. Special care should be taken during the summer months, and on surfaces that are under strong sun. The material should be applied when the outside temperature is between 50C and + 350C and not in the rain. When the temperature is at high levels the strengths develop faster while the workability of the material decreases. At low temperatures the resistances develop with delay. Wooden molds must be well wetted but no pools of water form
