Repair Plaster 5kG WRM 550 White 2111705502

WRM 550 is a white, quick-setting, cement-based repair plaster. It is a non-shrinkable material with excellent adhesion to concrete, masonry and old plasters. It consists of cement, lime, marble and improving additives. It is ideal for all types of plaster repairs for indoor and outdoor use. After mixing with water a paste is obtained. After mixing with water, a paste is obtained which can be applied with a trowel or metal spatula and with a continuous mixing plastering machine. Plaster setting time is shorter than ordinary plasters. It is more than twice as durable as conventional plasters and meets the requirements for repairs. Produced and controlled based on the European standard EN 998-1.

Application Steps

Step 1

First we remove the loose parts of the plaster or pieces of plaster that have been detached or cracked, with the help of a tool (chisel or a spatula or other). Then clean the surface thoroughly with the help of a hard brush, and wash it very well to remove all dust. Keep the wall moist until saturated

Step 2

We repair any damage to the masonry with appropriate repair material depending on the case

Step 3

We prime the surfaces with which the repair plaster will come in contact with the acrylic primer THRAKON GLX 290

Step 4

Add to a clean container 4.25-4.5 lt clean water for the 25kg bag or 0.85-0.90 lt clean water for the 5kg bag and gradually empty the contents of the bag, stirring constantly with an electric stirrer, so that to obtain a homogeneous mass of mortar

Step 5

Allow the mixture to mature for 3 min and stir again for a while. It is also recommended to stir the mixture periodically for the duration of the work. After the preparation of the mixture, the additional addition of water is prohibited to correct the workability of the mortar. This will reduce its strength and increase its shrinkage

Step 6

In places of the substrate where there are thermal insulation boards (eg polystyrene boards, etc.), such as in beam columns, etc., it is recommended to reinforce the WRM 550 with glass mesh, in order to avoid the appearance of cracks. The glass mesh is placed in the following way: A first layer of plaster is applied and while it is still fresh, the strip of glass mesh is placed by pressing lightly to become a body with the plaster. Then a second and final layer is applied. The purpose is for the grid to be fully integrated with the WRM 550 and to be 1/3 of the thickness of the plaster from the outside in. Finally, the grid should cover the area on either side of the thermal insulation boards by 10-15 cm

Step 7

WRM 550 is applied like ordinary plaster and rubbed with a sponge after about 30 minutes. However, we must keep in mind that the waiting time for sanding varies with the temperature, the absorbency of the substrate and the mixing water ratio.

Step 8

Then we apply the first layer of plaster (adhesion layer) using the repair mortar WRM 550, taking care that the layer of repair plaster comes in good contact with the existing surfaces, both the masonry and the old plasters

Step 9

Where necessary, insist with the trowel to ensure better contact

Step 10

Then, when the first layer thickens, the final layer of plaster follows, using again the repair mortar WRM 550

Step 11

When the final layer is drawn, we pass it with the bar and then, if necessary, we smooth it with a trowel
