Reinforced adhesive with zero vertical slip and long open time for non-absorbent tiles.

VKW124 is a thin layer of adhesive, absorbent and non-absorbent tiles on horizontal and vertical surfaces.

Modified with polymeric cementitious additives, it consists of cement, quartz sand, limestone fillers and improving additives.

VKW124 presents slip resistance, very strong adhesion to all standard substrates and high resistance to weather conditions (rain - heat - frost).

It also presents an extended open time (up to 30 minutes) with the consequence of increasing the productivity of the workshops.

It is classified as C2TE type adhesive based on EN 12004 for internal and external use.

If during the preparation of the mixture you add 1-2kg / bag 25Kgr, emulsion VLX 186 and the necessary amount of water, the characteristics of the product that will correspond to the category S1 of EN 12002 are strengthened. After the modification the glue becomes suitable for gluing tiles in non-absorbent substrates that are subject to temperature changes, vibrations and contractions such as swimming pools, heated floors, old paving, etc.

Specifications

Application Steps

Step 1

The paving substrate must be flat, free from loose and foreign bodies, stable, free from shrinkage and deformation tendencies and not accept vibrations.

Step 2

Absorbent substrates are primed with GLX 290 primer before application

Step 3

In a clean container add 7.0-7.5 liters of clean water and gradually empty the contents of a 25 Kg bag, stirring constantly with an electric stirrer, to obtain a homogeneous mass of mortar.

Step 4

Allow the resulting mixture to mature for 5 minutes and stir a little again. The mixture is ready for use for the next 4 hours. After the preparation of the mixture, the additional addition of water is prohibited to correct the workability of the mortar. This would reduce its strength and increase its shrinkage

Step 5

Spread the glue on the surface and then comb the layer of glue with a special serrated spatula

Step 6

Within 20 minutes from the application of the glue, we place the tiles in their place by pressing them well, in order to ensure complete contact. Excess glue must be cleaned from the joints before it dries. Expansion joints must be installed on surfaces larger than 25m2

Step 7

At the points of contact of the floors with the walls, the use of suitable silicone mastic is recommended

Step 8

During the application but also during the next 24 hours the temperature of the environment and the substrate must be between + 5C and + 35C

Step 9

The glue when still fresh is cleaned with water. When hardened it is mechanically removed
